Because I am blessed to have a sister in an office job, an environment that I think in fact requires one to discover, receive, and then send on hilarious time-wasters, I came across this ad today on Craigslist:
SINGLE MOM OF 7 SEEKING TWO BON JOVI PIT TICKETS AT GILLETTE STADIUM. DON'T HAVE MUCH (ANY) MONEY, BUT CAN TRADE THE SWINE FLU VACCINE FOR 6 OF THE KIDS. (I NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OLDEST THE 11 YEAR OLD, GETS HIS AS HE WILL BE WATCHING THE OTHERS WHEN I GO TO THE SHOW).... LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE. THANKS......
TO SHOW I'M REASONABLE AND NOT A NUT CASE, I'M FLEXIBLE ABOUT WHAT PIT SECTION I GET. DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THE TWO CENTER SECTIONS (BUT DON'T REALLY WANT THE OUTER TWO SECTIONS EITHER) THANKS
No, seriously, I'm not making this up - it's right here.
Really, there's little I can or should say about this exchange. It's all just too easy - "really, couldn't you at least hold out for a Beatles reunion?" comes to mind. There's also "well thank goodness you've proven you're not a nut case." Or maybe the classic "gee, with such an enterprising nature, it's hard to believe yo have no money!" And there's always the standby "it really makes you wonder how she got knocked up so many times and is STILL inexplicably single! Durn con-dams!"
But like I said, those things pretty much say themselves.
Is there any legal precedent for child services calls based on Craigslist-listings? Anyone want to create one with me?

The Truth About This Special Time In Your Life
According to what we remember from pamphlets geared towards 6th-grade girls, puberty is regarded as one of the most awkward and scary stages in a person’s life. It’s a time of horrifying physical transformations, scary new feelings, and growing interest in activities that you are still not old enough to engage in legally. Common symptoms of puberty include: braces, frizzy hair, baby fat, having a crush on 8th grader Steve Julius, blinding body odor and lame extracurricular interests like the violin or Bedazzling.
However, if personal experience has taught us anything, it's that there are experiences in life far more awkward, scary and pathetic than puberty. Here is a list of things that are:
WORSE THAN PUBERTY
